Full Body Heating Systems

Thermatool designs and manufactures a complete range of solid-state induction heating systems for the in-line heating of many different varieties of tube and pipe.

Typical applications for full body heating systems are as follows:

  • Induction heating of tube prior to the galvanizing process. This is typically carried out at medium frequency, around10kHz. Note: Galvanization may be required on both the inner and outer tube surface, hence the need for heat to penetrate throughout.
  • Annealing of condenser /refrigeration tube at mill speeds up to 150m/min. The annealing process enables this type of tubing to be coiled prior to use. Induction heating on this particular application is carried out at around 150kHz.
  • Annealing of automotive brake line tubing is very similar to the above and is also carried out at around 150kHz. Annealing not only gives radial strength to the tube, facilitating high pressure containment, but it also enables tubing to be efficiently coiled prior to installation.

Thermatool's ability to provide precise induction heating allows post-processing applications such as bending operations ranging from smaller diameters to very thick wall large diameter pipe. Please contact Thermatool Corp. to find out more about implementing induction heating equipment, or a complete heating and bending system.
